Taught Thru Sport Team SLAM! Wolverhampton's newest basketball club has arrived. This is just the next step in the SLAM! legacy, to changing the face of basketball in the region. No matter age or gender Team SLAM aims to develop talent from beginners to experienced players.We promise the sessions will be challenging and enjoyable Hoopin' 2 Health With the assistance of a qualified fitness instructor, the group will take part in a program consisting of intensive basketball and fitness development. The program seeks to develop participants athletic, social and moral abilities through active sports participation and engagement mentoring. Raising Aspirations Our working relationship with 'University of Wolverhampton' allows us to work closely with their 'Widening Participation Agenda'. Selected young people will be invited to take part in a number of sports and educational days, which will also give insight and inspiration to attending the regions biggest Higher Learning Institution Dads and Lads An extended school scheme to help local resident father be involved in their childrens lives. Dads and Lads is a ABCD funded project ran throughout the All Saints, Blakenhall and Parkfields area. A mixture of sports, games and activities are used to engage individual, helping build community interaction and cohesion. Learning to Succeed Our work with the Wolverhampton Education Business Partnership: Learning to Successed has created links with local schools such as Pendeford Business and Enterprise School and Colton Hills Community School, providing engagement mentoring tailored to mentees required interests and skill set SLAM 2 The Streets Summer Basketball roadshow, providing leadership workshops, basketball development sessions, competetions and game across a 6 week city-wide program. |
